Last night a man from my Church gave a presentation on a man called C.F. Andrews. (1871-1940) C. F. Andrews was a Anglican priest from England who worked closely and became extraordinarily good friends with Mahatma Gandhi.  Andrews was appalled by the racism and oppression in South Africa and India. He became involved in the Indian civil Rights struggle and the Indian Independence movement.  He played a prominent role in it’s success becoming highly respected by both the Indian and British. Also known as Christ’s Faithful Apostle, Andrews was named Deenabandu, meaning Friend of the Poor,  by Gandhi and his students at St. Stephen’s College.

The Japanese researcher Masaru Emoto has some interesting ideas/research on how the molecular structure of water is influenced by our thoughts.  EEEEK.  This both disturbs me and intrigues me as well.

A few months ago I put the words Love and Gratitude on my water bottle.  Every time I drank my water I would think on these things. I will do this again.

human-water.gifWater has been on my mind lately.  It is a good thing to have on my mind too, given I don’t get enough of it. Perhaps writing about it may connect me to it more, help me to remember how important it is for me to drink and remember what an absolute blessing it really is.

Apparently in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

Genesis 1:2
                                                the earth
                                   was formless and empty,
darkness was over the surface of the deep
                                               and the

                                           Spirit of God
                                           was hovering

                                        over  the waters.

According to Genesis, water has been right from the start.

The human body is made up of over 70% water. Our blood is more than 80%‚ our brain … over 75%‚ and the human liver is an amazing 96% water!

John 7:38

believes in me, as the Scripture has said
                                   streams of living water
                                                                            will flow from within him.

2 Peter 3:5(b) states
                   was formed
out of water and by water

Water is considered a purifier in most religions. Major faiths that incorporate ritual washing (ablution) include Hinduism, Christianity, Islam, Judaism, and Shinto. Water baptism is a central sacrament of Christianity; it is also a part of the practice of other religions, including Judaism (mikvah) and Sikhism (Amrit Sanskar).
